Park Rules & Regulations
Purpose – Play – Progress
Halperin Park is a “play at your own risk” park. The Southern Gateway Public Green Foundation and Halperin Park are not responsible for injuries that occur on park property. Parents are strongly encouraged to provide direct supervision, ensure their child’s safety and assess his or her capability with regard to play elements. There are inherent risks to outdoor play and using play elements in the park. Please use discretion and use each play element as it was intended and designed.
All visitors must comply with directions from Park personnel and all posted rules.
General Rules
Follow all directions from park staff and posted signage
- Park hours:
- 7 am-10 pm Sunday-Thursday
- 7 am-11 pm Friday-Saturday
- The park is a smoke-free, vape-free and drug-free space
- Use the park at your own risk
Cleanliness & Conduct
- Dispose of trash and recycling properly
- Do not leave belongings unattended
- Be respectful of seating and please don’t move furniture or misuse it
- Stay out of landscaping and planted areas
🚫 Prohibited Activities
The following is not allowed in the park:
- Smoking, vaping, or drugs
- Outside alcoholic beverages; no such beverages may be brought into the park or consumed on park property
- Bikes, scooters, skateboards, motorized vehicles, carts, shopping carts within the perimeter of the park. Any bikes brought to the park must be secured at provided bike racks.
- Weapons (Halperin Park is a Privately Operated Park)
- Handguns (open carry or concealed)
- Rifles
- Knives
- Stun Guns
- Open or concealed carry in the park
- Glass Containers
- Fireworks
- Camping, grilling, or open flames
- Organized sports
- Feeding birds
- Panhandling
- Soliciting of any kind including bartering, sales or vending
- Interfering with events or guests
- Leaving unattended packages
- Unauthorized encampment
- Staking of any structure of element into the ground
- Blocking of pathways or entry points
- Use of kites or drones
- Mass balloon release
- Reckless behavior that potentially endangers guests or employees at Halperin Park is prohibited and could result in a temporary or permanent ban from the park
Advance Written Permission Requirements
Visitors must get prior approval for:
- Amplified sound (music, speakers, drumming)
- Setting up structures or tents
- Commercial filming or photography
- Any professional or amateur photographer taking pictures in the Park must have consent of all subjects being captured, including the parent or guardian of a Child prior to photographing the Child
- Selling or advertising products/services
- Flyers, signs, posters, collateral of any kind
- Blocking sidewalks or installing equipment
- Displays of any kind (Signs, Flags, Posters, etc.)
- Use of Park utilities (Electrical outlets, water spickets, etc.)
- Affixing anything to Park property
Food Truck Rules
- Only approved vendors can operate
- All vendors must have pre-approval before setting up in the park
- Vendors must follow health & safety regulations
- Vendors are responsible for proper disposal of waste and must keep area clean
All visitors must comply with directions from Park personnel and all posted rules.
Chairs & Seating
- Be considerate of others; keep personal belongings, feet and legs off seating.
- Refrain from moving chairs and tables from their designated spots.
- Do not leave belongings unattended.
- All seating at Halperin Park is first come, first serve unless reserved by management
Gardens & Landscaping
Keep pets and people out of the flowers and plants.
Pets
- Pets must remain on a leash while at Halperin Park.
- Keep pets and people off the flowers and plants and planter beds.
- Additionally, please clean up after your pet.
- Pets are the responsibility of the owner
- Anything here about pets using designated relief areas.
Keep the Park Clean
- Please use the receptacles for trash and recyclables.
